Maximum adult size: 4 cm
Temperament: Peaceful, ideal for community tanks
Difficulty of care: Easy, great for beginners
Preferred Temperature: 16–22°C
Preferred pH of water: 6.0–8.0
Type of breeding: Egg scatterer
White Cloud Mountain Minnows thrive in cooler water and do not require a heater in most temperate climates. They are active, schooling fish that should be kept in groups of at least six to promote natural behaviours. These omnivores are not fussy eaters and will accept high-quality flakes, pellets, and small live or frozen foods. Breeding is relatively easy, as the species scatter their eggs among plants or substrates. Removing adults after spawning will increase the survival rate of fry.
