The Albino Gold Corydora is a vibrant and peaceful bottom-dwelling catfish, prized for its striking pale golden-yellow body, pinkish hues, and bright red eyes. This variety is a selectively bred form of the common Corydoras aeneus, sharing the same peaceful temperament and hardy nature, but with a brighter, more eye-catching appearance. Active and highly social, Albino Gold Corydoras are happiest in groups and make excellent additions to community aquariums.
Maximum adult size: 6.5 cm
Temperament: Peaceful and shoaling; best kept in groups of 5 or more
Difficulty of care: Easy
Preferred Temperature: 22–26°C
Preferred pH of water: 6.5–7.5
Type of breeding: Egg-layer
This corydora prefers a soft, sandy substrate to prevent damage to its delicate barbels and enjoys aquariums with plenty of plant cover and hiding spots. While peaceful, they are very active and constantly sift through the substrate in search of food. Provide a varied diet of sinking pellets, algae wafers, and occasional frozen or live foods. When well cared for, they will often display breeding behaviour, laying eggs on tank glass or broad plant leaves. A great choice for hobbyists looking for a splash of gold at the bottom of their tank.
