Description
Kohaku Swordtails are a striking variant of the popular swordtail species, renowned for their bright red-orange bodies with contrasting white markings reminiscent of the Kohaku koi fish. This vibrant coloration adds a captivating splash of colour to any freshwater aquarium. Kohaku Swordtails are lively and hardy fish, making them excellent for both novice and experienced aquarists. Their elongated “sword” tails, present in males, give them an elegant and distinctive appearance as they dart around the tank.
These active swimmers are known for their social behaviour, doing best in community tanks with other peaceful fish species. They can tolerate a range of water conditions, but thrive in a well-maintained tank with consistent water quality and adequate swimming space. Kohaku Swordtails are livebearers, making them an interesting choice for aquarists interested in breeding, as they often produce numerous offspring.
