Bred selectively from the common Cherry Shrimp, this variety boasts rich sapphire to navy tones across its entire body, making it a standout addition to planted aquariums. Peaceful, active, and easy to care for, Blue Dream Shrimp are ideal for beginners and shrimp-keeping enthusiasts alike.

Maximum adult size: 2.5–3 cm
Temperament: Peaceful; best kept in groups
Difficulty of care: Easy
Preferred Temperature: 20–26°C
Preferred pH of water: 6.5–7.5
Type of breeding: Egg-layer (female carries eggs under abdomen until hatching)

These shrimp thrive in heavily planted tanks with plenty of hiding spaces and stable water conditions. They are excellent algae grazers and will spend most of their time foraging on plants, substrate, and hard surfaces. Blue Dream Shrimp do best in species-only tanks or with very peaceful fish, as they are small and easily stressed. A varied diet of algae wafers, blanched vegetables, biofilm, and high-quality shrimp food will keep them healthy and vibrant. Breeding is straightforward under stable conditions, with females carrying eggs (“berried”) until the young hatch fully formed.
